The Republic Centre for Support of Persons with Intellectual Disability \u2013 PORAKA in 2023 will continue to realise the activities arising from its foreseen goals and principles.\u00a0The programme activities of the Republic Centre \u2013 PORAKA are based and in line with the implementation process of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, as an exceptionally important document that is legally binding for the states that have ratified it.<\/b>\u00a0The Reference document that the Republic Centre \u2013 PORAKA is going to use in its activities will be the Concluding observations on the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities sent to the Republic of North Macedonia during the 2018 September session of the Committee. The Republic Centre \u2013 PORAKA had and will have a significant role in all processes that refer to the UN Convention.<\/p>\n
One of the fundamental activities of the Republic Centre \u2013 PORAKA is maintaining, developing, and advancing the work in the community-based social services.\u00a0<\/b>The activities in this area are aimed in two directions: towards maintaining the continuity of work at the established social services (day centres and social clubs) for persons with intellectual disability and towards creating conditions for promotion of other types of services. During 2023, the Republic Centre \u2013 PORAKA will continue to initiate local authorities to actively participate in the process of sustainability and opening new social services in the community, according to the Law on Local Self-Government. Additionally, the Republic Centre \u2013 PORAKA will continue its initiatives for creating a services for Early Childhood Intervention.<\/p>\n
The advancement of legal opportunities regarding realization of human rights for persons with intellectual disability is continuous activity of the Republic Centre \u2013 PORAKA. In 2023, special attention will be given to the implementation process of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities,\u00a0<\/b>as an exceptionally important and legally binding document for those countries that have ratified it. At the same time, the Republic Centre \u2013 PORAKA will continue to use its report \u201c10 Years After\u201d as an instrument for lobbying the institutions responsible for realisation and advancement of human rights for persons with intellectual disability.<\/p>\n
During 2023, the Republic Centre \u2013 PORAKA will continue to implement activities related to raising public awareness regarding the needs and rights of persons with intellectual disability and their families.<\/b>\u00a0These activities represent continuation of the Republic Centre \u2013 PORAKA\u2019s previous campaigns and will be aimed at highlighting the need for effective implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and promoting the right to a dignified life for persons with intellectual disability through adequate support services.<\/p>\n
Due to more effective realisation of the programme tasks of the local organizations,\u00a0part of the regular activities of the Republic Centre \u2013 PORAKA are also coordination and professional and methodological support to its local organizations.\n\nIn 2023, the Republic Centre \u2013 PORAKA will continue the cooperation established on international level with EASPD and other associations, and will participate in joint initiatives, activities and projects that arise from the membership in these organizations.\u00a0<\/b>The Republic Centre \u2013 PORAKA will also continue to implement activities within the partnership projects that are realised on European level.\u00a0Also, the publishing and information activities, that are regular activities of the Republic Centre \u2013 PORAKA will continue to be implemented in 2023.<\/b><\/p>\n
