Day Centre of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Radovis
The activities in the Day Centre of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Radovis have been regularly implemented in the past period. At the end of March, cooperation with the camp “Bozilak”, a civic initiative that provides support to persons with disabilities and their families, was implemented for the first time. During the visit, interactive workshops were held in which the users, through music, games and making souvenirs, sent the message that they are an important part of the community, that they have talents and abilities and that they deserve equal opportunities and respect for their diversity. The meeting with the parents was also particularly important, at which they had the opportunity to share their life experiences, challenges, but also successes in caring for their children. The parents once again expressed the importance of the Day Centre as a service that provides support and opportunities for the progress of their children.
At the beginning of April several activities related to Easter Holidays were realized. On 9th of April, the users of the Day centre were visited by representatives from Makom Maja discounts, together with the recognizable mascot Green Clover and Mr. Oleg Bojadziev who brought Easter gifts. On 15th of April, representatives of the "Hope" association came to the Day Centre, and donated food products collected with the support of citizens and companies from the municipality of Radovis. The donation will be used in practical activities carried out in the Day Centre. The users also received vouchers for personal needs. At the end of April, two interesting activities were realized. One of them was a working eco action for landscaping the yard and preparing for planting flowers. Young volunteers from different countries united in the organization "Youth with a Mission" together with the users of the Day Centre tidied up the yard, collected garbage, dug and mowed grass. On24th of April, the Day Centre was visited by volunteers from Sweden, who planted flowers in the yard together with the users.
At the beginning of May, i.e. 6th of May, at the invitation of the families of two users of the Day Centre of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Radovis who live in the village of Podares, all users and their parents were their guests on the occasion of the religious holiday St. George’s Day, which is the patron of the village. The visit was an opportunity to enjoy the beauties and to see the everyday life in a village.
Day Centre of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Prilep
The activities at the Day Centre of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Prilep have been implemented regularly and in accordance with the planned programme in the past period. On several occasions, students from the Institute for Special Education and Rehabilitation at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje, have implemented their student internship at the Day Centre and have been actively involved in activities and workshops.
On the occasion of Easter, various activities were realised in the Day Centre for making decorations, food and traditional Easter egg painting. On the first Friday after Easter, which is dedicated to the suffering of Jesus Christ, the users of the Day Centre visited the Monastery of St. Archangel Michael. The Monastery is in the oldest settlement in Prilep called Varos, and the residents celebrate this holiday. In mid-April, the users were honorary guests at the 24th regional show of traditional songs and dances organised by the Union of Pensioners’ Associations of Macedonia. On 29th of April, on the occasion of 1st of May, Labour Day, an educational and recreational picnic was held on the artificial lake in Prilep. The users had the task to independently choose products up to certain amount and to bring additional requisites for the picnic.
During the months of April and May, activities for preparing the soil for planting flowers by scattering seeds and planting with roots were carried out on several occasions. In parallel with these activities, activities for watering the plants, weeding and activities for maintaining the yard area also began. To mark the birthday of teacher Vera Poposka, who has been a long-time associate of the Day Centre, we carried out an activity for buying a birthday present, and on May 14th, in a pleasant atmosphere in a local bar, we celebrated her birthday.
Day Centres of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Skopje
The Day Centres of the Republic Centre - PORAKA in Skopje continued to implement programme activities in the past period. At the end of March, the users of the Day Centre of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Kapistec attended a joint workshop with students from the Sculpture and Transmedia Practices Studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Skopje, where they made April Fool's masks from combined materials and techniques. The users of the same Day Centre were present at the patronage of the Primary School "Jan Amos Komenski" and had joint activities with the same school in the Community Garden "Bostanie". The workshop was also attended by an official representative of the Garden who explained the concept of an organic urban garden through a short lecture.
The beginning of April was marked by activities related to the Easter holidays. On 7th of April, a workshop was held at the premises of Day Centre of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Kapistec with pupils from the Primary School "Kiro Gligorov", where Easter decorations were made, while on 9th of April a joint workshop was held at the premises of Day Centre of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Aerodrom with pupils from the Secondary School "Braka Miladinovci", where Easter eggs were painted and Easter decorations were made.
On 7th of April, the World Health Day, the users of the Day Centre of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Aerodrom took a walk along the bank of the Vardar River. On 22nd of April, relating the World Book and Copyright Day, a group of users of this Day Centre visited the stand of the Public Institution City Library “Braka Miladinovci” on Makedonija Street.
During these months, the activities in the Community Garden "Bostanie" continued with a group of users from the two Day Centres and parents who started the spring sowing and maintenance of the soil. At the beginning of May, joint occupational activities were also organized in "Bostanie" with the users from the Day Centre for Cerebral Palsy and the users and educators from the Day Centre in Kapistec. On 8th of May, at the invitation of the Primary School "Ljuben Lape", the users of the Day Centre in Aerodrom joined the action "General Cleaning Weekend" for collecting garbage in the school yard, while on 15th of May, several users of this Day Centre participated in a workshop in the premises of the Primary School "Aleksandar Makedonski" on the occasion of the International Day of Families, where they made a family tree.
At the beginning of June, the users of the two Day Centres of the Republic Centre -PORAKA in Skopje had the opportunity to visit the Secondary Veterinary School "Braka Miladinovci", where they had the opportunity to get acquainted with their botanical garden and mini zoo.
At least once a week, the users of the two Day Centres of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Skopje participated in recycling plastic packaging at the "Pakomak" vending machines.
From the second half of March to the beginning of June this year, the users of the two Day Centres of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Skopje were involved in a series of activities with the long-time associates from the Centre for Performing Arts and Education "Teatar Pi". The activities can be divided into two parts, namely creative music workshops in which their external associates and members of the Musical Youth of Macedonia were involved, in order to prepare for a musical performance that took place on 4th of April in the premises of the Centre for Culture in Gjorche Petrov. The other type of workshops, i.e. acting rehearsals, were for the needs of the new theatre play called "Physics of Joy", the premiere of which took place on 9th of June, also in the Centre for Culture in Gjorche Petrov.
Day Centre of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Shtip
The Day Centre of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Stip in the past period implemented a series of activities in accordance with its programme for work. At the end of March, members of PORAKA Makedonska Kamenica visited the Day Centre and together with the users held a workshop relating the Spring Day and prepared a simple meal. On 25th of March, the first workshop was implemented, at which, through joint advocacy for environmental protection, the users of the Day Centre, together with the pupils of the Primary School “Vanco Prke”, and with the help of educators and teachers, made windmills that will be placed on a gazebo and exhibited at the Secondary School “Dimitar Mirasciev”.
April began with activities relating the Easter holidays. On 8th of April, in cooperation with Adient Seating Shtip, a traditional joint workshop was held where Easter eggs were decorated. On 8th and 9th of April, workshops were also held with fourth grade pupils at the Primary School "Goce Delcev", where wax figures were made, which were then given to pupils from the same school. On 22nd of April, the Earth Day, an activity was held at the Secondary School "Dimitar Mirasciev", in which the users of the Day Centre also participated. Through personal creations, each participant contributed to the arrangement and decoration of a mini park under the motto "I can, you can, together for a healthy environment." On the same day, as part of the afternoon programme on MTV 1, a feature was broadcasted, which was dedicated to the work and activities of the Day Centre of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Stip. The topic of the show was focused on the importance of social inclusion, highlighting the role of the Day Centre in improving the quality of life of the users and their integration into the community. On 26th of April, a race was held, organized by Superior Global Services with the support of the Municipality of Stip. Traditionally, this year, the users, with the support of their parents/guardians, participated as volunteers and supporters.
At the beginning of May, a one-day excursion was organized during which sights in Radovis were visited, free activities were carried out in Dojran, and the Mega Shopping Park in Gevgelija was also visited. The excursion was organized and supported by the Association of Disability Organizations – Stip, where PORAKA Stip is one of the member organizations. Within the framework of the project “Strong Message”, a television was donated for the needs of the Day Centre. The donation was provided through events organized around the Spring Day, at which decorations previously made in joint workshops were exhibited. As a result of the long-term cooperation with Vaska Zdravkova, M.A., from the Faculty of Medical Sciences at the University "Goce Delcev", the Day Centre of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Stip is involved in a scientific paper on the topic: "Corrective games as a factor in improving well-being, mental health and the sense of belonging in persons with intellectual disability."
Social Club of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Bitola
In the past period, activities at the Social Club of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Bitola were regularly implemented. During April, numerous activities aimed at the development, creative expression and social inclusion of the users were implemented in the Social Club of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Bitola. Through creative and occupational workshops, the users had the opportunity to develop fine motor skills, concentration, work habits and a sense of responsibility, but also to express their creativity through drawing, colouring and making handicrafts.
Special attention was paid to the celebration of the greatest Christian holiday, Easter. In a festive atmosphere, several thematic workshops were held, during which the users made Easter decorations, artwork and traditionally painted Easter eggs. As part of the festive activities, the users also attended the Easter liturgy in the church "St. Bogorodica" - the oldest church in Bitola.
The Social Club of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Bitola also actively participated in the cultural life of the city. In cooperation with the National Centre for Culture – Bitola, the users produced 13 canvas paintings, which were presented to the participants of the International Monodrama Festival “Mirror of Truth”. This was a significant recognition and a special honour for the users, who through their creativity were given the opportunity to actively be part of an important cultural event. Some of them also attended the closing performance of the festival, which further contributed to strengthening the sense of belonging and active participation in the community.
Through various music workshops held during May, users had the opportunity to listen, learn and record Macedonian folk and pop songs. In parallel with the musical activities, reading and writing workshops were also held. The workshops contributed to maintaining the acquired knowledge, encouraging interest in learning and strengthening the self-confidence of each user.
During May, a one-day excursion to Ohrid was also organized within the framework of social inclusion activities. The users visited the archaeological site of Plaosnik, where they became acquainted with a segment of the rich cultural and historical heritage of the city. They followed the information with great attention and showed sincere interest in the significance of the site and its role in Macedonian history. The visit to the Monastery Complex of St. Naum was filled with a pleasant atmosphere, socializing and joint activities.
Social Club of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Vinica
The activities in the Social Club of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Vinica have been regularly implemented in the past period. During April, several cognitive-educational, practical and social activities were implemented with the users in the Social Club. In anticipation of the Easter holidays, discussions were held about the meaning of the holidays, traditions and customs, and several creative workshops were implemented in cooperation with pupils from the Secondary School "Vancho Prke", who are also volunteers in the youth organization of the Red Cross Vinica.
The users made drawings, handicrafts, decorations and Easter egg baskets, and participated with great interest in boiling and painting Easter eggs.
In a festive atmosphere, activities were also held, such as an egg count and the selection of the strongest Easter egg, and in cooperation with Red Cross volunteers, an Easter Bazaar was organized, where the handicrafts made in the creative workshops were exhibited.
Workshop was held to mark 22nd of April, the Earth Day. Through conversations and creative activities, users emphasized the importance of caring for the environment and the role of everyone in preserving nature. Drawings inspired from the planet Earth were also made. Special emphasis was placed on activities to maintain personal hygiene, as well as conversations about the importance of hygiene regarding the health. Users talked about everyday events, holiday celebrations and interesting moments that left an impression on them, thus encouraging communication and social interaction.
The planned programme activities continued in May. Several workshops were held to mark the month of psychological health. Through conversations and interactive activities, the users discussed feelings, mutual respect and the way they want others to treat them. Topics related to insults, hurt feelings and ways of dealing with unpleasant situations were also discussed. During May, several important dates were also marked. Through a conversation and a creative workshop, 15th of May, International Families Day, was marked. On Firefighters' Day, the users of the Social Club were introduced to the role of firefighters, as well as the correct behaviour in case of a fire. The day of Saints Cyril and Methodius was also marked, on which the letters of the alphabet were made.
Social Club of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Gevgelija
The activities in the Social Club of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Gevgelija, in the past period, were implemented in accordance with the planned programme activities. April began with the celebration of April Fool’s Day, and in cooperation with the volunteers from the Youth Club of Red Cross Gevgelija, April Fool’s Day masks were made.
On 4th of April, the users attended the humanitarian exhibition of retro items at the Amam Art Gallery, organised by the young volunteers from Red Cross. Part of the funds gathered from the ticket sales were allocated for the needs of the Social Club.
Several workshops were organised related to Easter holidays as well. The users made different decorations, and on 9th of April, a humanitarian Easter workshop was held at the Pioneer Home in Gevgelija, where, together with volunteers from the Red Cross in Gevgelija the users painted Easter eggs, made Easter baskets and enjoyed socialising. Also, in cooperation with the Red Cross, a humanitarian bazaar was held on 25th of April, where prepared snacks were sold at symbolic prices. The funds raised will be used to purchase materials for work in the Social Club.
During May, workshops on various topics were held. On 5th of May, the Macedonian Alphabet Day was marked, and the users made the letters of their names. Spring was an inspiration for several creative workshops in which the users expressed their artistic and creative abilities combining a variety of materials. The beautiful spring weather was used to organise a walk to Negorski Banji.
Some of the users of the Social Club took part in an event on the occasion of the World Bee Day, organised by the Bee Farm “Alcinov” under the auspices of the Municipality of Gevgelija. The event was held at the City Square in Gevgelija with cultural and artistic programme and created opportunities for socialising and education. As a result of the successful cooperation with the Youth Club of the Red Cross in Gevgelija, PORAKA Gevgelija received a donation in furniture, hygiene products and office supplies, which will contribute to better functioning of the Social Club.
Activities for gaining independent living skills are implemented continuously, as well as board games that contribute to socialisation.
Social Club of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Kavadarci
The practical activities also continued to be realised. Activities were carried out for maintaining personal hygiene, maintaining the hygiene of the premises in the Social Club, but also outside in the yard. A one-day visit to Strumica village Novo Selo was also organised. During this day, the users had the opportunity to visit village Mokrievo and Mokrievo waterfalls, the Kolesino waterfalls and the Monastery of St. Anthony.
The practical activities also continued to be realised. Activities were carried out for maintaining personal hygiene, maintaining the hygiene of the premises in the Social Club, but also outside in the yard. A one-day visit to Strumica village Novo Selo was also organised. The sports activities continued to be held regularly in the sports hall of the Secondary Agricultural and Forestry School “Gjorce Petrov”. The users of the Social Club also had the opportunity to attend sports matches of the city football team Tikves and the Handball team Tikves.
During May, several creative workshops were held to mark the important dates in this month. The users had the opportunity to express their artistic abilities and make interesting handicrafts. The regular practical activities were not left out either. The users of the Social Club realised activities for maintaining personal hygiene, as well as the hygiene in the premises of the Social Club and the yard.
During May, some of the users of the Social Club took part in an international tournament in Stara Pazova, Republic of Serbia, together with the Sport Club “Karposovo”, where they had the opportunity to show their sports skills and competitive spirit. Some of the users, also had the opportunity to participate in activities for marking the football week organised by Special Olympics.
Social Club of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Strumica
The Social Club of the Republic centre – PORAKA in Strumica has been regularly implementing the programme activities in the past period. On 2nd of April, the World Autism Awareness Day, a creative workshop was held organised by the ethno restaurant “Kaj Viktor”, in which the users of the Social Club of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Strumica, together with members of the Association “Govor na srceto” and employees and pupils from OURC “St. Kliment Ohridski” took part.
Several activities for celebrating Easter holidays were also implemented and workshops were held for making Easter handicrafts and decorations, which were then exhibited at the Easter Bazaar that was held on 4th of April in the City Square in Strumica. On 5th of April, on the occasion of Lazarus Saturday, the users of the Social Club and their parents visited the village Raborci. Together with the members of the Association “Govor na srceto”, they had the opportunity to socialise, learn Lazarus songs and weave willow wreaths.
Creative workshop was held at the ethno restaurant “Kaj Viktor” on 7th of April, where the users of the4 Social Club, together with other participants, painted Easter eggs. To mark 22nd of April, Earth Day, an educational workshop was held with discussions about protecting our planet and how to protect and preserve nature.
During May, in addition to the regular activities, several workshops were held, as well as walks in the city and visits to institutions and events. On 12th of May, the users of the Social Club had a recreational walk in the city park and continued their socializing in one of the cafes in the city.
On 26th of May, an educational visit was held at the Institute for Protection of Cultural Monuments and the Museum – Strumica. During the visit, the users had the opportunity to see the exhibits in the Museum, but also to hear about the cultural heritage of Strumica and the surrounding area. On the last day of May, the users participated in the Veljuska Cherry Festival 2026 in the village Veljusa, where they had the opportunity to exhibit handicrafts.
