The Republic Center for Support of persons with Intellectual Disability – PORAKA is civil, parents, national non for profit disability organization, which represents the rights and interests of more than 20.000 persons with intellectual disability in the Republic of North Macedonia.
The activities in the Day Centre of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Radovis have been regularly implemented in the past period. At the end of March, cooperation with the camp “Bozilak”, a civic initiative that provides support to persons with disabilities and their families, was implemented for the first time.
One of the most important postulates of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is the right of persons with disabilities to live independently, with access to quality services to support them in their daily lives, and inclusion in all segments of the community.
Strengthening the capacities and programme activities of its social services – Day Centres for persons with intellectual disability over the age of 18 is one of the priority areas of the Republic Centre – PORAKA. In this regard, the Republic Centre – PORAKA is constantly working on improving and restructuring its programme for work in the Day Centres, following contemporary practices, adapted to the needs of the users and their families.
