The European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities (EASPD), in the past period, developed a report on the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on support services for persons with disability, paying special attention to rising energy costs. The report provides initial information about the measures taken by service providers to mitigate these rising costs, as well as insight into initiatives started by governments to help service providers. The report also warns against inaction from authorities towards social service providers, stressing the negative consequences on both the continuity and the quality of the support provided.
The Republic Centre for Support of Persons with Intellectual Disability – PORAKA was one of the eight EASPD members that took part in the report. PORAKA made an overview of the situation in our country in relation to the current inflation/cost-of-living crisis, i.e., their constant increase, and how it deals with the new situations. Additionally, PORAKA gave an overview of the measures taken by the Government to support the social service sector, and also what still needs to be done to reduce the negative consequences.
