Renovations of the classroom for creative and sports activities within the day Center for persons with intellectual disability

In the past period activities have been taken for renovation of the third additional room at the Day center for persons with intellectual disability of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Skopje – Kapistec. The new room is completely renovated and equipped in a classroom for creative and sports activities. The renovation activities have been realized in cooperation and supported by “Dobredojde” – Macedonia Welcome Centre. Namely, “Dobredojde” – Macedonia Welcome Centre, on 6 June 2015, organized the fifth International Charity Bazaar 2015, on the occasion of the International Day for Protection of the Child, where the Honorary President was the Ambassador of the Republic of Italy in the Republic of Macedonia, H.E. Ernesto Massimo Bellelli. The Charity Bazaar was supported by the Mayor of City of Skopje, Mr.Koce Trajanovski. All the finances gathered at the bazaar have been allocated for the needs of renovations at the Day centre for persons with intellectual disability of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Skopje – Kapistec.

The opening of the renovated classroom for creative and sports activities took place on 22 October 2015. The event was organized by “Dobredojde” – Macedonia Welcome Centre, and representatives fro the Diplomatic Corps in Macedonia, local institutions, members of the Republic center – PORAKA, the beneficiaries of the Day center – PORAKA Skopje and other friend of the persons with intellectual disability were present at the opening.

The classroom was opened by H.E. Ernesto Massimo Bellelli, Ambassador of the Republic of Italy in Macedonia and Mr.Koce Trajanovski, Mayor of City of Skopje. The Organizator, Mrs. Emilija Miladinova-Avramceva, President of “Dobredojde”- Macedonija Welcome Centre pointed out that the message that is sent out is about raising awareness regarding persons with intellectual disability and to invest in their education since it is one of the ways for them not to become vulnerable and marginalized group in the society. Mr.Viktor Borizovki, engaged person in the Day Center of the Republic Center – PORAKA in Skopje, emphasized the cooperation with City of Skopje and the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, as well as with Makedonski Telekom, which jointly worked to renovate and equip the day center, a social service that is without a doubt needed for persons with intellectual disability and their families.

Mr.Ernesto Massimo Bellelli, highlighted: “Despite the rainy weather, I think that we have a bright sun today because we are opening this classroom for persons that are in need of this type of place. I would like to express my gratitude to all the states that contributed at the Charity Bazaar in June, and certainly to the Mayor Trajkovski for his unselfish support. But, the most important thing is not the abandon the Republic center for Support of persons with intellectual disability – PORAKA in it future work.”
The Mayor Trajanovski underlined that City of Skopje cares for persons with special need and each year allocated funds for the needed services. He added: “City of Skopje will continue to financially support the Day centers of the Republic Center – PORAKA in Skopje in order to provide better conditions in their functioning, as well as for improved and pleasant stay of the beneficiaries”. Moreover, he expressed his gratitude to Ambassador Bellelli, and to all participants at the Charity Bazaar, who showed humanity and thus enabled the renovation of the creative and sports classroom within the Day center for persons with intellectual disability of the Republic Center – PORAKA in Skopje – Kapistec.
