Day Centre of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Prilep
In the past period, a new practice has been introduced to the users, in which with guidance by the educator, they can practice using chemical products independently. Continuous practice of these activities provides better skills in determining quantity, recognizing the products according to pictures, and caution when using them. These types of activities assist in learning the importance that clean home/space leads to better personal health. In March, the users made martinki for observing the arrival of spring. Creative workshop with theme on 8th of March has been organised where the users prepared floral decorations. In the period from 20th till 23rd of March, users of the Day Centre with one of the educators, took part in a study visit to Sarajevo, where they had the opportunity to exchange experience with participants from other partner organisations.
Day Centre of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Shtip
The users of the Day Centre in Stip realised several interesting activities and workshops in cooperation with other stakeholders in Municipality of Stip. On 6th of January, a couple of users took part at the Christmas procession, which is traditionally organized in Stip. On 13th of January, together with part of the technical personnel from the Primary School “Goce Delcev” prepared а bread with coin to celebrate Vasilica (religious holiday).
On 3rd of February the Librabry “Goce Delcev” from Stip organized literature performance “Goce Delcev – the great man born to teach us and guide us”. The users of the Day Centre took part in the performance and together with the others listened to and read about Goce Delcev. Furthermore, creative workshops were conducted for making martinki, health and lucky charms. In the period from 20th till 23rd of March, two users and one educator took part in a study visit to Sarajevo, where they had the opportunity to exchange experience and perform activities with the other participants from the partner organizations.
Day Centre of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Radovis
The Day Centre of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Radovis has been performing its programme activities regularly in the past period. Apart of them, it has realised different activities with other organisations on local level. Nikolajco Nikolov continued with his tradition to celebrate his birthday with the users of the Day Centre. The cooperation with the volunteers of the Red Cross in Radovis continued, as well. On 28th of February there was a creative workshop for making martinki. In March, a meeting was held, in which the volunteers from Red Cross discussed the everyday life and different situations with the users of the Day Centre. Moreover, the users of the Day Centre observed 21 March, the World Down Syndrome Day, by conducting a creative workshop with couple of volunteers from the Red Cross.
Part of the management team of the Mines Borov Dol and Bucim visited the Day Centre on the occasion of 8 March and presented the girls with beautiful fresh flowers. The users of the Day Centre together with Prof. Katerina Jovanova Dimanova and pupils from the Secondary School “Kosta Susinov” began the preparations for the new theatre play “The Little Mermaid”. During this past period, rehearsals are carried out as workshops for gaining a sense of belonging, cohesion in a group, getting to know the participants in the play, casting the roles in the play.
Day Centres of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Skopje
Apart from the regular activities that are being implemented in the Day Centres of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Skopje, several workshops were organized for observing important holidays. On 13th of January, the users of both Day Centres in Skopje observed the Orthodox New Year by preparing bread with a coin and joint celebration. On 27th of January, the Mayor of the City of Skopje visited the Day Centre in Aerodrom, where she had the opportunity to meet the users and be informed about the activities at the Day Centre.
At the premises of the Day Centre in Aerodrom, an episode of The Fifth Angel programme was filmed, which was broadcasted on 18th of March on the National Macedonian Television. The journalist Violeta Sovkarovska hosted the programme, and the users, educators, and the team from the Executive Office of the Republic Centre – PORAKA, as well as parents, gave their insights regarding the work and the need of these type of services. The cooperation with Theatre Pi continued in this period also. Starting from 14th of March, at the premises od both Day Centres, workshops are held for the new multimedia campaign. In the period from 20th till 23rd of March, one user of the Day Centre with one of the educators, took part in the study visit to Sarajevo, where they had the opportunity to exchange experience with participants from other partner organisations.
Social Club of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Strumica
The activities at the Social Club are performed as planned in the past period. During the Christmas Holidays there was a creative workshop together with “Operation Christmas Child” – Macedonia, in which the users made Christmas decorations. At the end of the workshop, the users received Christmas gifts. On 13th of January, at the premises of the Social Club, a Christmas Lunch was organised, followed by a karaoke party. Several workshops were held in February with themes regarding the holidays St. Trifun and St. Valentin. The users of the Social Club were specially interested in the workshops for preparing the Carnival masks for the Strumica Carnival 2023.
During March, there were several workshops for making martinki, cards for Women’s Day. There was a workshop for observing the World Down Syndrome Day held in the Social Club, and the users sent clear messages to the public regarding the current situation and discrimination that persons with Down Syndrome face, as well as the other persons with disability in the society.
Social Club of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Bitola
The Social Club of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Bitola realised its programme activities in the past period as foreseen. At the beginning of January there were workshops for the Christmas holidays. Also, the Women’s Union of VMRO-DPMNE, and the Veterans of VMRO – DPMNE visited the Social Club and gave the users scarfs and gloves as gifts. In cooperation the band Oskar, the Social Club organised a party and the users had the opportunity to be introduced to different musical instruments. Also, there was a joint celebration of the Christmas Holidays and the users shared bread with a coin. The writer and alpinist Ljupco Gjorevski visited the Social Club, and he was telling stories from the book “Hunting Tales and Stories”. There were also creative workshops for 8th of March, where the volunteers Gordana Dimitrovska, Martin Dimitrovski and Liljana Kuzmanovska took part. In cooperation with the Primary School “Todor Angelevski”, the users of the Social Club visited this school and had a workshop together with pupils on the theme 8th of March.
For observing World Down Syndrome Day, the users of the Social Club were included in a couple of activities. They took part in a Humanitarian Bazaar organized by the Local Club of SDMM on 19.3.2023 in Bitola, under the motto “Pay a cup of coffee with a polite word, support the persons with Down Syndrome”, and together with pupils from the primary School “Dr.Trifun Panovski” they sent messages for inclusion and equal rights for all persons with disability.
Social Club of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Vinica
The activities at the Social Club of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Vinica were continuously implemented in the past period. During January several workshops were held on the topic of winter and the Christmas Holidays. Also, there was a joint celebration of the Christmas holidays and the users shared bread with a coin, as one of the traditions in our religion. During February there were several workshops on different themes. For celebrating St. Trifun, plant pruning activities were realized, and decorations were made on the theme vineyard and wine. For St. Valentine, the users of the Social Club made cards with messages for love, respect and mutual understanding. During February, the users took part in workshops for making flowers, bouquets, decorations, and cards from different materials to observe the 8th of March.
Social Club of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Gevgelija
The activities at the Social Club in Gevgelija started to with realization after a short break. In January most of the activities were aimed towards the Christmas Holidays. There was a joint celebration for Vasilica (religious holiday) and the users shared bread with a coin.
In February different types of activities were realized, part of them for fun and recreation and part of them for gaining new knowledge, skills, cooperation and mutual help and support. There was a competition in darts, an activity that provided opportunity for the users to develop their competitive spirit, mutual help, controlling the feelings when winning less points from others, as well as motivation for improvements. During this period, the users also made different decorations for observing the 8th of March, and had conversation regarding the meaning and importance of this holiday.
