Representatives of the Austrian organisation Lebenshilfe Tirol visited the Republic Centre – PORAKA
The activities of the Republic Centre for Support of persons with Intellectual Disability – PORAKA on international level, among other things, result in numerous successful cooperations with organisations that work in Europe, and throughout the world.
One of these cooperations is with the organisation Lebenshilfe Tirol, organization that works in Tirol, Austria for many long years. The organization provides social services for persons with intellectual disabilities, which also include services for Early Childhood Intervention. For observing their 60th jubilee, part of the employees will have study visits to partner organizations in Europe.
In the period from 29th of May till 1st of June, and from 12th till 16th of June, The Republic Centre PORAKA hosted two groups of representatives from Lebenshilfe Tirol. They had the opportunity to learn about the activities of the Republic Centre – PORAKA, to visit its social services and directly see the implementation of the programme activities in these services. Both groups had the opportunity to have a meeting with a representative of the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and directly learn about the plans of this Ministry regarding social services provision for persons with disability, emphasising the early childhood intervention. Additionally, the representatives of Lebenshilfe Tirol shared their knowledge and experiences with PORAKA’s Team and the educators at the day centres of the Republic Centre – PORAKA.
The intensive, open, and constructive exchange of experiences, knowledge and information will help in further implementation of new ideas and approaches in the work of both organisations.
