Workshop for evaluation of the programme for work in the Day Centres of the Republic Centre - PORAKA

The Republic Centre for Support of Persons with Intellectual Disability – PORAKA has been working on restructuring its programme for work in the Day Centres in the past period. The restructuring of the programme for work at the social services arose from the need to place greater emphasis on the development and retention of practical skills and the independent living skills of the users.

Strengthening practical skills is crucial for users who have recently lost their parents, in order to enable them to function more independently in their own homes, with support from their extended family. Also, some users of the Day Centres, as a result of the pandemic and staying at home, are experiencing a decline in the practical skills.

As part of the continuous advancement of the work of its social services for persons with intellectual disability, and at the same time, as part of the programme activities aimed at professional support, the Republic Centre – PORAKA organised and held a one-day workshop for the evaluation and improvement of the work of its Day Centres on 4th of October 2025. The workshop was attended by all employees of the Day Centres and was held in the premises of the Day Centre of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Shtip. During the workshop, a review of the results achieved from the introduction of the restructured programme for work in the Day Centres was made. The Republic Centre – PORAKA’s team, as well as the employees, mutually provided suggestions for improving and advancing the content aspects of the work in the Day Centres. At the same time, different difficulties were also pointed out, and possible solutions were jointly sought.

The Republic Centre – PORAKA’s team will continue to provide support of the personnel for successful planning and realisation of the programmes for work within the network of social services of the Republic Centre for Support of Persons with Intellectual Disability – PORAKA.
