The Republic Center for Support of persons with Intellectual Disability – PORAKA is civil, parents, national non for profit disability organization, which represents the rights and interests of more than 20.000 persons with intellectual disability in the Republic of North Macedonia.
The programme activities in the Day Centre of the Republic Centre - PORAKA in Prilep have been implemented as foreseen in the past period. Different activities were realised with the users aimed for gaining and improving the independent living skills. Within the social activities numerous actions were conducted in cooperation with other people and organisations.
“Zelena Arka – Bostanie” is the first urban garden in Skopje, set in the park in Novo Lisiche, and it is guided by the idea for transferring public areas into urban gardens. This project is realized with financial aid from City of Skopje, and in cooperation with Municipality of Aerodrom, the public enterprise “Parkovi i zelenilo”, the Faculty of Forestry, the Institute of Construction and other socially responsible companies.
The long-term cooperation of the Republic Centre – PORAKA with the Institute of Social Work and Social Policy at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje continues with its successful realisation in the past period. Beginning from March 2024, two first-year students from the Institute of Social Work and Social Policy realised their professional practice at the Day Centre in Aerodrom every Friday in the period for three months.
