The Centre for Performing Arts and Education Theatre PI organized multimedia campaign “Wonders in Alice” in cooperation with the Republic Centre – PORAKA and its social services in Skopje.
Workshops with some of the users of the Day Centres of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Skopje have been realized in the past period and with pupils with typical and atypical development from the primary schools “Dimitar Pop-Berovski”, “Mirce Acev”, “Straso Pindzur” and “Joakim Krcovski”. On these workshops the participants made drawings, sculptures, installations, and photographs assisted by art teachers.
An exhibition of installations photographs was set on 10.12.2022, along with a labyrinth sensitive performance and a Ambiental music concert. The exhibition was set at the Centre of Culture in Gjorce Petrov.
As said by Theatre PI, the multimedia event represents the struggle of the “child” who fights to survive in the confusing world of adults. In order to understand the adult’s world, Alice must overcome the open-mindedness that is a characteristic of the children. It is obvious that adults need rules to live and obviously children need an Alice to hold her hand and cross to the other side of the mirror together. These are the aspects that will be sublimated in the play “Wonders in Alice”. The whole multimedia campaign for inclusion of persons with intellectual disability is supported by the Ministry of Culture and City of Skopje.
Theatre PI was part of the Author Festival – FAT 2022 held in Sofia in the period from 16th to 18th December 2022. The play “Nothing Scarry”, in which users of the Day Centres of the Republic Centre – PORAKA in Skopje are playing, and also some of them took part at the festival won two awards. One is for best director to Zlatko Mitreski and Makedonka Ilievska, and the other is for acting synergy.
