Meetings for strategic planning regarding the development of the local organizations of the Republic Center – PORAKA

One of the permanent program activities of the Republic Center for Support of Persons with Intellectual Disability – PORAKA since its foundation is coordination and support to its local organizations. This type of support is provided on request by the local organizations or when the Republic Center – PORAKA realizes that there is a need to support a certain local organization or all of them together, and whenever there are new trends in the working methods.

Due to the need for providing professional and methodological support to the local organizations towards intensifying their strategic planning, the team of the Republic Center for Support of Persons with Intellectual Disability – PORAKA conducted individual meetings in each local organization. During these meetings, the conducted activities and the achieved results of the local organizations in the past years were considered. Special attention was given to the activities planned for 2012, but also the development opportunities in the period of 2012 – 2015.

Each of the meetings had a different course of discussion since every local organization faces different problems and difficulties. Each municipality has different possibilities and resources available for solving and overcoming the situation. Therefore, each local organization set its own priorities, and will then carry out activities for their realization.

Participants on the meetings were representatives of the Assembly of each local organization, persons engaged in the work of the organization, representatives of local authorities and institutions. These meetings were also utilized to solve numerous issues, which have arisen from the statutory structure of relationships, rights and obligations of the Republic Center for Support of Persons with Intellectual Disability – PORAKA and its local organizations, including the services. Also, these meetings offered possibilities for answering any questions that the parents had regarding their children’s rights to social protection, health, employment etc.
